Triadenins A (1) and B (2), meroterpenes possessing novel carbon skeletons and biogenetically related to polycyclic prenylated benzoylphloroglucinols (PPBPs), and a new PPBP, triadenin C (3), were isolated from the aerial parts of Triadenum japonicum (Hypericaceae). Detailed spectroscopic analysis revealed unique 5/7/6/5-tetracyclic and 6/5/6-tricyclic scaffolds for 1 and 2, respectively. Three PPBPs (4−6) were also isolated from the same plant material, which were assigned as enantiomers of PPBPs previously isolated from Garcinia species (Clusiaceae). (−)-Xerophenone C (4) showed an inhibitory activity against RSL3-induced ferroptosis on human hepatoma Hep3B cells and exhibited an antimicrobial activity.
