A hepatic abscess is a suppurated cavity caused by microorganisms that invade the liver parenchyma through the bile ducts, bloodstream, or contiguous spread.Among the pyogenic causes of hepatic abscesses, Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the most common. We present an uncommon case of a patient with two pyogenic hepatic abscesses. We discuss the patient's initial presentation, longitudinal imaging review, and treatment approach, especially in the setting of multiple abscesses. This case highlights an uncommon clinical course that demonstrates clinical deterioration with signs of inadequate drainage with the use of a single catheter drain for two pyogenic abscesses, and clinical recovery following placement of two additional separate drains, one for each abscess.
