Effective power management systems in DC household applications have raised interest in the analytical study of specialized converter topologies and control algorithms. This Article presents the design of a Single-Input Dual-Output (SIDO) converter with control strategies, including a Fuzzy Logic (FL) controller and a Proportional-Integral (PI) controller for voltage control. The proposed SIDO converter has a 48 V input and regulated 24 V and 12 V outputs. The experimental results are validated on the TMS320F28379D Microcontroller by maintaining the output voltage at a constant level in a closed-loop configuration with sensor-based feedback. The PI controller demonstrated a settling time of 5.83 ms and a voltage regulation of 4.7%, whereas the FL controller achieved a settling time of 3.24 ms and a voltage regulation of 0.5% for the 24 V output. The FL controller achieved a settling time of 5.29 ms and a voltage regulation of 1.25% for the 12 V output, significantly improving over the PI's 19.95 ms settling time and 2.16% voltage regulation. These results show that the FL controller has a better dynamic response in terms of rise time, settling time, overshoot, undershoot, and reduced ripple during load surges than the PI controller.
