This article describes a nonlinear control strategy for a single-inductor single-input dual-output (SI-SIDO) DC–DC buck converter. To competently regulate the multiple outputs while sharing a common inductor, a hierarchical control architecture is proposed, enabling coordinated control of the dual-output system. The proposed adaptive control framework ensures accurate voltage regulation at both output terminals while explicitly addressing the challenges of cross-regulation and cross-coupling effects inherent in SI-SIDO converters. By decoupling the control objectives across different hierarchical levels, the proposed approach enhances dynamic performance and improves steady-state voltage tracking under load and reference variations. Comprehensive simulation studies are carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed nonlinear hierarchical controller under various operating points. Furthermore, the simulation results are validated through extensive experimental implementation using the dSPACE DS1104 platform, demonstrating fast output tracking, superior regulation, robustness and practical feasibility of the proposed control scheme.
