Theatre learning plays an important role in art education by fostering students’ creativity, communication skills, and art appreciation. The development of digital technology and popular culture requires innovative learning approaches. This study aims to examine theatre learning in senior high school art education, analyze the utilization of local wisdom, particularly the Legend of Depati Bahrin, as a theatre learning resource in digital environments, and explore the integration of local wisdom and digital technology in relation to students’ art appreciation. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines. Literature was retrieved from Google Scholar, Garuda, Semantic Scholar, DOAJ, and ERIC using predefined search strategies and selection criteria. From 284 identified records, 16 studies were included in the thematic synthesis. The findings identify three interrelated themes: theatre as a participatory art learning process, local wisdom as cultural and narrative content, and digital technology as a medium for expanding access and engagement. The synthesis indicates that these elements can support art appreciation, cultural awareness, and student engagement. The Legend of Depati Bahrin has potential as a contextually relevant theatre learning resource, although its effectiveness requires empirical testing.
