The article is devoted to the analysis of the current state of the system of labeling and accounting of salmon aquaculture facilities in cage farming. The regulatory framework for regulating this area in the Russian Federation is being considered, including Federal Law No. 148-FZ "On Aquaculture (Fish Farming)", Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 550 "On Approval of the List of Animal Species Subject to Labeling and Accounting" and EAEU Technical Regulation 040/2016 "On the Safety of Fish and Fish Products". The practical aspects of the introduction of fish identification systems using group and individual labeling methods, the specifics of the use of product traceability technologies are analyzed. The key problems of the existing accounting system have been identified, from the technological difficulties of installing microchips to insufficient integration of information systems. The necessity of modernizing labeling approaches is substantiated, taking into account the biological characteristics of salmon and the technological conditions of cage cultivation. The directions of improving the regulatory framework and practical accounting mechanisms for aquaculture facilities are proposed.
