This study aims to describe students' perceptions of the role of Augmented Reality (AR) applications in supporting spatial visualization in solid geometry among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Bandar Pulau. The study used a quantitative descriptive approach with 33 eighth-grade students as subjects. Solid geometry was taught using a Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach assisted by an AR application. Data were collected through a four-point Likert-scale perception questionnaire (10 statements), administered to the experimental class after the lessons, and analyzed using descriptive percentage statistics. On average, 44.6% of responses fell into the strongly agree category and 41.2% into the agree category, so 85.8% of responses were positive. Of the students, 93% stated that AR helped them understand the shapes and structures of solid figures, 95% stated that learning became more enjoyable, and 90% stated that they could relate solid geometry to everyday life. The statement on active participation in discussion received the lowest agreement (50%). Students therefore perceived AR as playing a positive role in supporting their understanding of the shapes and structures of solid figures and in increasing their interest in learning. The effect of CTL assisted by AR on spatial visualization ability, based on test results, is reported separately
