Key result
Healthy lifestyle interventions reduce cardiovascular risk factors across urban community populations.
Why the study?
Cardiovascular disease is a major health problem in urban communities due to increasing unhealthy lifestyle risk factors, motivating an analysis of the relationship between strengthening healthy living behaviors and prevention strategies.
Does strengthening healthy lifestyle behaviors (physical activity, balanced diet, weight control, health education, and digital technology) reduce cardiovascular risk factors and prevent cardiovascular disease in urban communities?

Does strengthening healthy lifestyle behaviors (physical activity, balanced diet, weight control, health education, and digital technology) reduce cardiovascular risk factors and prevent cardiovascular disease in urban communities?
This systematic literature review demonstrates that integrating individual healthy lifestyle behaviors with supportive social, community, environmental, and digital strategies is effective for reducing cardiovascular risk factors in urban populations.
May inform urban CVD prevention strategies; leaves open the need for prospective trials to confirm associations.
Cardiovascular disease is one of the main health problems in urban communities due to the increase in risk factors related to unhealthy lifestyle behaviors. This study aims to analyze the relationship between strengthening healthy living behaviors and cardiovascular disease prevention strategies in urban communities. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by examining 25 scientific articles obtained through identification, selection, and evaluation processes based on inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using a thematic analysis approach to identify patterns of healthy lifestyle interventions. The results showed that regular physical activity, balanced diet, weight control, and health education contributed significantly to the reduction of cardiovascular risk factors. In conclusion, strengthening healthy living behaviors through evidence-based strategies can be an effective approach in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and the development of urban public health interventions.

Dwi Laksono Adiputro (2026) conducted a systematic review in Cardiovascular disease prevention in urban communities. Healthy lifestyle behaviors (physical activity, balanced diet, weight control, health education, community-based interventions, and digital technology) was evaluated on Reduction of cardiovascular risk factors and prevention of cardiovascular disease. Healthy lifestyle interventions—including physical activity, balanced diet, weight control, and health education—reduced cardiovascular risk factors across 25 reviewed studies in urban communities.
