Systematic review and meta-analysis comparing indwelling pleural catheter (IPC)-based and pleurodesis-based strategies in adults with symptomatic malignant pleural effusion, with emphasis on distinct dimensions of morbidity: subsequent pleural reintervention, adverse events, serious adverse events, hospitalization, and survival. This registration is retrospective: it was created after completion of screening, data extraction, and the principal analyses, and documents the methods and analytical framework used in the final review. It does not constitute a prospective registration or preregistration.
