Case Report (n=1)

This case report highlights that non-typhoidal Salmonella enteritidis can cause acute pericarditis with marked troponin elevation even in young, immunocompetent individuals, successfully managed with a 4-week course of targeted antibiotics and short-term ibuprofen.
May support combined therapy in rare bacterial pericarditis; leaves open confirmation in prospective studies.
