This study aimed to describe the ability of Phase E students of Class X Culinary 2 at SMK Negeri 6 Padang to write negotiation texts through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model, both overall and according to the structure of negotiation texts. The study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The sample consisted of 31 students who participated in a performance test of writing negotiation texts. Data were collected through a writing performance test and assessed based on five structures: orientation, submission, offer, agreement, and closing. Data analysis involved scoring the students’ texts using an assessment rubric, converting scores into grades, calculating mean scores, and determining qualifications based on the established scale. The results showed an overall mean score of 77.90, categorized as Good (B). The mean scores were 76.60 (B) for orientation, 69.35 (More than Sufficient) for submission, 80.62 (B) for offer, 99.17 (Excellent) for agreement, and 64.50 (Sufficient) for closing. These findings indicate that the students’ overall ability was good, although performance across structures was not evenly distributed, particularly in submission and closing.
