This brief research report describes eight children with RESLES treated at a single tertiary hospital. Etiologies included influenza A infection, respiratory syncytial virus with adenovirus coinfection, clinically suspected enterovirus-related herpangina, autoimmune glial fibrillary acidic protein astrocytopathy (GFAP-A), and one severe infantile encephalopathy with RESLES-like callosal involvement. We aimed to summarize the clinical, laboratory, EEG, and MRI features of these patients and to propose a practical framework in which diverse systemic or CNS insults converge on homeostatic disturbance and cytotoxic lesions of the corpus callosum (CLOCCs).
