How does a universe form when the only starting point is recognition: distinguishable events, compared through records that survive? This record collects an integrated manuscript that derives the first stages, and six focused papers that give the full statements and proofs of results the manuscript explains. Each paper defines its objects in classical mathematics, proves its results with their conditions stated, and says what remains open. Every result stated in these papers has been checked against a machine-verified formal proof. The work belongs to the same program as the stage papers of our simulation of reality (doi:10.5281/zenodo.23651782) and uses their accepted results where their premises match. Each paper is refereed on its own and revised as the work advances; this version holds the latest accepted version of each. The Formation of the Universe from Recognition: The First Record, Time and the First Interacting Dynamics (the integrated manuscript). The record of events has a first state, the empty record, which costs nothing and which no posting can produce. The least-cost first event is one unit post, the shortest complete cycle takes eight ticks, and keeping a record while writing the next takes a fresh blank at an exact energy price. The first interacting dynamics, eight-state clocks driving one photon field, is stable in finite regions when each clock drives its own current. The posting law leaves the next event undetermined; physical units and thermalization are the next derivations. Native Clock–Photon Dynamics: Regional Stability, a Reference-State Obstruction and the Local Limit. In every finite region the Hamiltonian of eight-state clock registers driving one photon field is self-adjoint on an explicit domain, and when every register drives a unit current on its own edge the energy is at least −2a per active cell. In the clock ground state each register adds one quarter of its squared source amplitude to the one-photon response, so these stable regional Hamiltonians have no strong limit. Register observables and photon displacements with summable couplings still evolve on the whole lattice as one automorphism group. The Price of the First Recognition Event on Every Carrier: Bridges, Loops and Conductance. With the recognition cost as the action of each bond and unit weights, the first event with its reciprocal costs √5 − 2 exactly when its bond lies on no loop, and strictly less on a loop. Rings and loops meeting only at the bond's ends are solved exactly, the carrier's electrical conductance bounds the field's drop from below, and strengthening a carrier never lifts the drop above log φ. Where the Arrow of Time Sits: Records and the Information Each Tick Loses. A recognizer's record only grows while its imbalance returns to balance, and the arrow of time sits in the law of the imbalance. For every reversible law the information shed from the empty record totals 9 log φ. The native law sheds 35.7% of it on its first tick, and no fixed forget-and-redraw step reproduces two consecutive ticks of a law that moves along every link. The Record Cell of the Four-Dimensional Lattice: Time, Lorentzian Signature and the Regge Action near Flatness. Read as the records of four accounts, a unit four-cube has the number of postings as its only clock. An interval that treats the accounts alike makes every history causal exactly when it is Lorentzian with time along the main diagonal and κ ≥ 1; among these, light moving by single postings forces κ = 1, and reading that signal as physical light is an identification still to be derived. On the Euclidean lattice, Regge's action changes along a uniform stretch of the main diagonals only at third order, so flatness is stationary without being extremal. The Reference State of the Native Clock-Photon Lattice and the Dephasing of its Register Coherences. The clock ground state has no infinite-volume limit as a vector but defines a state on the quasi-local algebra, and for unit currents on distinct edges its whole-lattice evolution exists at every clock strength. With the clock off the evolution is exact. When currents fill every edge of a register's direction, its coherences vanish on time average while its occupations keep their values: the dynamics selects the occupation basis. The Joint Law of Many Recognizers: Native Marginals, Joint Balance, Pairing and Light Cones. Giving every recognizer the native law does not fix their joint law. Imposed on joint moves, the two balances that fix one recognizer's law force independence, so interacting recognizers must break one of them. Conserving the total imbalance is exactly pairing opposite posts, possible for every even number of recognizers and for none of one, three, five or seven.
