This article investigates the position of the attributive genitive in the Middle Low German Bilderhandschrift of the municipal law from Hamburg dated 1497. The attributive genitive is analysed in accordance with a number of factors. The focus lies on the semantic characteristics and the semantic relations of the attributive genitive and on attributive genitives with modifiers of their own. It is shown that the position of the attributive genitive in the text fits into a pattern previously shown for other Middle Low German municipal laws.
