Introduction: Endometriosis is an enigma when it comes to the theories. It is a chronic gynaecological condition which leads to chronic pelvic pain with heavy menstrual bleed for the patient. Even though it is primarily a gynaecological condition, it has shown to have a connection with cardiovascular health especially due to oxidative stress and chronic inflammation. There has been a decline in cardiovascular health either due to disease process or due to the side effects of the treatment for endometriosis. Methods: There are studies which showed a direct pathophysiological association between cardiac health and endometriosis due to oxidative stress induced damage to endothelial cells, compromised vascular functions and accelerated atherosclerosis. Molecular pathways demonstrate markers which points towards a decline of cardiac health. Result: The impact of treatment of endometriosis has its own impact on the cardiovascular system especially when it is either due to combined oral contraceptives, COX-2 inhibitors or even definitive surgeries in younger patients. Conclusion: Endometriosis and cardiovascular health are intertwined by its shared pathophysiology and management strategies. It is of paramount importance that the overall health is kept in mind while diagnosing and treating endometriosis. Early diagnosis and strategic treatment that are safe for cardiac health for predisposed women are to be considered. A focus on the current development of safer management strategies can be adopted for a more holistic approach to both cardiac and reproductive health.
