The women’s volleyball team of Banjarnegara Regency is set to compete in the Pre-Provincial Sports Week (Pra-Porprov)—a recurring sporting event held every four years. Currently, the mental readiness of the athletes remains uncertain due to the long interval since the last regular tournament. Given that mental preparedness is a critical factor in determining an athlete's performance during competition, this study aims to assess the athletes' mental readiness across four dimensions: motivation, self-confidence, anxiety, and the perceived importance of the team. This quantitative study employs a survey design, utilizing statistical analysis and a descriptive-exploratory approach. The results indicate that the mental readiness of the women’s volleyball athletes for the Pre-Provincial Sports Week falls into the "moderate" category. The study focuses specifically on motivation, self-confidence, anxiety, and the importance of the team; future research could incorporate additional psychological aspects. In conclusion, the factors supporting the mental readiness of the women’s volleyball athletes—motivation, self-confidence, anxiety, and the importance of the team—are all rated as "moderate." Consequently, it is recommended that coaches continuously monitor the athletes' mental readiness throughout each training session leading up to the championship.
