The Japanese species of the damsel bug genus Stenonabis Reuter, 1890 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Nabidae: Nabinae: Stenonabini) were subjected to a taxonomic review. The following four species were recognized in the country: S. extremus Kerzhner, 1968, S. miyamotoi sp. nov., S. orientalis (Reuter, 1910), and S. uhleri Miyamoto, 1964. The newly described species inhabits the grasslands of the Ryukyu Islands and was distinguished from other species in the genus primarily by the shapes of its forewings and parameres. Additionally, S. orientalis was recorded from Yonaguni Island of the Ryukyu Islands for the first time. An illustrated key was also provided to identify the Japanese species of Stenonabis.
