The Javanese-Chinese Acculturation Tourism Village in Besani was named one of the top 75 recipients of the Indonesian Tourism Village Award from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in 2023. Besani Village's inclusion in the ADWI award certainly makes it a village with quite successful tourism management. Meanwhile, in Batang Regency itself, many tourist villages are underdeveloped due to a lack of understanding among local tourism operators in building sustainable tourism communication (sustainable co-tourism). Yet, the concept of sustainable co-tourism is the lifeblood of ensuring that a tourism destination can continue to operate and attract many visitors. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method based on secondary data. Data were collected from secondary sources such as the Ministry of Tourism's Jadesta documents, Batang Regency government reports, archival documents, relevant journals or literature, and mass media. Findings based on the TOS framework indicate that Besani Tourism Village incorporates all five of the framework's components: accessibility, compatibility, tourism facility characteristics, social interaction, and management regarding the degree of control. These five components are integral to Besani’s co-tourism, contributing to its selection among the top 75 in the 2023 ADWI awards organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. However, field observations revealed weaknesses regarding facility characteristics specifically a lack of facilities related to environmental health and safety risk management even though these aspects are crucial for tourists exploring Besani Tourism Village. Therefore, TOS analysis plays a role in shaping the tourism communication used there.
