Purpose: This study aims to optimize the determination of the location and number of SPKLU in the city of Bandung to improve accessibility, efficiency, and support clean energy transition policies. This research is motivated by the development of electric vehicles in Indonesia, including the electric motorcycles. Yet still, the limited number and location of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) pose a major obstacle to supporting the adoption of electric vehicles. Methodology: The research modified the Facility Location Problem, with the objective of minimizing construction costs, operational costs, and transportation costs. The model was implemented for the case of Bandung using Python with the CBC solver and verified through sensitivity analysis. Results: Model’s implementation results indicate that constructing 17 SPKLUs at strategic locations can serve over 30% of demand at a construction cost of approximately Rp 8.08 billion, more efficient than the Samsat regional division approach. Sensitivity analysis shows that an increase in daily demand directly impacts the need for infrastructure investment. Conclusion: In conclusion, the model is effective in formulating optimal SPKLU placement strategies and can serve as a reference for policymakers in planning electric vehicle infrastructure in major cities, particularly in ensuring equitable and sustainable charging services in the future. Originality: This research contributes to the expansion of implementation of Mixed Integer Linear Programming model (MILP) by developing a novel model to optimise the green public services during the adoption of green technology.
