A new extinct cerylonid species, Philothermus nirvanicus sp. nov., is described, diagnosed, and illustrated based on a well preserved inclusion from Baltic amber of the Sambian Peninsula. The fossil is compared with extant congeners from the Northern Hemisphere. The identification key to the described fossil Cerylonidae (three species, all in Baltic amber) is provided. The zoogeographical affinities of the Baltic amber cerylonid assemblage known so far are assessed.
