Mentigi Beach in North Lombok Regency has potential for coastal tourism; however, site-specific information on its tourism suitability based on physical beach characteristics and supporting water quality measurements remains limited. This study aimed to assess the suitability of Mentigi Beach for coastal tourism using the Tourism Suitability Index (TSI) and to describe water quality based on temperature, salinity, and pH. The study was conducted in August 2026 at three purposively selected observation stations in Mentigi Beach, Malaka Village, Pemenang District, North Lombok Regency. The TSI assessment covered ten parameters: beach type, beach width, seabed substrate, water depth, water clarity, current velocity, beach slope, coastal land cover, hazardous biota, and freshwater availability. Water quality was evaluated with reference to Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 22 of 2021. The TSI values at Stations 1, 2, and 3 were 2.80, 2.59, and 2.79, respectively, with an average of 2.73, indicating the Highly Suitable category. Water temperature ranged from 28.7 to 28.8°C, salinity was 34 ppt, and pH ranged from 7.8 to 7.9. These measurements provide supporting environmental information for interpreting the physical suitability results. Overall, the three surveyed stations were classified as highly suitable for beach tourism based on the assessed TSI parameters. These findings apply to the surveyed stations and provide preliminary site-specific information for coastal tourism assessment at Mentigi Beach.
