The title of this festschrift is adapted from an introduction written by Jon Conte for a (different) journal's special section about child sexual abuse prevention. A special section, and not a full special issue, due to too little work in this space, as he lamented. Yet even in the past couple of years, there has been remarkable growth in the area of child sexual abuse prevention research, documenting what works, and what needs work across a multitude of prevention strategies. Enough to fill a book and enough to underpin the development of a robust national strategy. Child sexual abuse is preventable, not inevitable, as Jon helped to demonstrate through his work as an editor, educator, and scholar.
