This study aims to investigate students’ perception and motivation toward learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL) through YouTube. The study employed a quantitative research design using a survey method. The participants consisted of 90 second- and sixth-semester students from the English Education Department at a state Islamic university in Banten who had experience using YouTube as a learning medium for English. The data were collected through a questionnaire containing 16 statements divided into two sections: students’ perceptions and students’ motivation toward the use of YouTube in EFL learning. The questionnaire used a five-point Likert scale ranging from strongly disagree to strongly agree. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics by calculating the frequency and percentage of the respondents’ answers. The results indicate that most students have positive perceptions of using YouTube in learning English. In addition, YouTube increases students’ motivation by providing engaging learning materials and encouraging them to learn English more actively and independently.
