Technology has changed the way people use language and communicate with one another. The growth of the internet, smartphones, social media and artificial intelligence has brought major changes in the way we read, write, speak and share information. English, being widely used in education, business, science and international communication, has been greatly influenced by these changes. Today, communication is not limited to books, classrooms or face-to-face conversations. People communicate through emails, social media, video calls, online classes, digital presentations and AI-based tools. This paper examines the changing relationship between language, technology and communication, with special focus on English. It discusses how digital technology has influenced English language use and how artificial intelligence is becoming part of language learning and communication. The paper also looks at the advantages and problems of using AI in English education. AI tools can help learners improve their vocabulary, grammar, writing and communication skills. At the same time, too much dependence on such tools may affect independent thinking, creativity and originality. The paper argues that technology should support human communication rather than replace it. English education should therefore help learners develop language skills along with digital literacy, critical thinking, creativity and responsible use of technology. The paper concludes that preparing students for the future requires a balanced approach in which technology and human abilities work together.
