In order to effectively achieve active control of the structural seismic response, the control system for the seismic response of a single-story structure based on model reference adaptive control (MRAC) theory was established. Then, the seismic response of the structural system was analyzed by taking the peak ground acceleration (PGA) of the input seismic wave, the period of the controlled structure, and the damping ratio ξ c in the equation for the initial value of the velocity feedback gain as the main research parameters. The analysis results show that the response values of displacement time-history and acceleration time-history of the controlled structure are basically consistent with the values of the reference model, and are smaller than those of the uncontrolled structure. The above results demonstrate the effectiveness of seismic response control of a single-story structure based on MRAC theory. In addition, the response values of the system are influenced by the PGA of the input seismic wave, the period of the controlled structure, and the damping ratio ξ c . The closer the damping ratio ξ c is to the damping ratio ξ m of the reference model, the more readily the system response can be controlled.
