This factsheet presents the LIKE-A-PRO choice editing pilot conducted in a university canteen. The pilot tested whether gradually reducing meat-based dishes and increasing the visibility of plant-based and alternative protein meals could shift food choices while maintaining consumer choice. Awareness of alternative proteins increased substantially, and many canteen users selected plant-based meals during the intervention. The findings suggest that changes in the food environment can influence behaviour even when attitudes remain relatively stable. At the same time, some consumers perceived the intervention as restrictive. The pilot shows that gradual change, appealing alternatives, positive communication and continued choice are important for making choice editing effective and acceptable.
