This review article critically examined the psychometric instruments available for assessing the wellbeing of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) high school students within school settings. Drawing on a scoping review methodology, an extensive search of Embase, PsycInfo, Scopus and Web of Science identified 40 wellbeing measures published between January 2000 and April 2023. These instruments assessed various domains of wellbeing, including academic, cultural, emotional, mental health, physical, social and trauma-related aspects, in students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD), aged 10 to 18. The review highlighted the relevance, reliability and validity, and cultural suitability, appropriateness and sensitivity of these tools for use with CALD populations. Findings offered psychologists and counsellors working in schools, and allied health professionals a comprehensive resource to guide the selection and application of appropriate assessment tools, inform intervention planning and support the psychosocial adjustment of CALD students. This synthesis also identified gaps in current measures and outlined directions for future research and culturally responsive tool development in educational contexts.
