The use of natural colorants in cosmetic preparations is an alternative for developing products that provide aesthetic value while potentially offering antioxidant activity. This study aimed to formulate and evaluate the stability of a blush-on cream containing a combination of turmeric rhizome extract (Curcuma longa L.) and red dragon fruit peel extract (Selenicereus monacanthus L.) as a natural colorant and antioxidant. This laboratory experimental study involved four formulations, namely F0 as the control without extracts, and F1, F2, and F3 containing different concentrations of the combined extracts. The extracts were obtained by maceration using 70% ethanol, and the formulations were evaluated for organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion, stability through a cycling test, pay-off, hedonic acceptability, and antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. The results showed that all formulas remained homogeneous and met the spreadability requirements after the cycling test. Formula F3 demonstrated the best physical characteristics, with the highest adhesion time of 22.80 ± 0.70 seconds before and 21.87 ± 0.55 seconds after the cycling test, as well as a spreadability of 5.43 ± 0.21 cm before and 6.03 ± 0.06 cm after the cycling test. The pH value of F3 changed from 5.67 ± 0.21 to 4.63 ± 0.15, but remained within the appropriate pH range for topical preparations. The highest antioxidant activity was obtained from F3, with an IC₅₀ value of 61.70 ± 1.49 ppm, classified as strong antioxidant activity. The Friedman test showed no significant difference in the level of preference among the formulas in terms of color, aroma, and texture (p > 0.05). Based on these results, F3, containing a combination of 8% turmeric rhizome extract and 3% red dragon fruit peel extract, demonstrated the best physical characteristics, stability, and antioxidant activity, indicating its potential for use as a blush on cream containing natural colorants.
