The article was prepared by experts of the Russian Headache Society (RHS) and represents an adapted Russian-language version of the International Headache Society (IHS) Global practice recommendations for the treatment of migraine attacks, developed taking into account data from systematic reviews, meta-analyses and consensus documents. The recommendations have two levels: optimal – for countries and regions where most medicines are available, and basic – for regions with limited treatment options. Treatment algorithms using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, triptans, and gepants are presented, along with specific considerations for their use in special patient groups: pregnant women, the elderly, and patients with cardiovascular diseases. Medicines not registered in the Russian Federation and available alternatives are indicated. The adapted recommendations take into account the Russian specifics of drug availability and the clinical recommendations of the Ministry of Health of Russia. Compliance with the recommendations will improve the quality of care for patients with migraine in the Russian Federation.
