This factsheet summarises practical lessons from implementing the LIKE-A-PRO Living Labs with 3,729 consumers across 11 European countries. It focuses on what helped create inclusive, meaningful and effective engagement around alternative proteins. Key lessons include recruiting diverse participants through trusted local partners, using accessible settings and engaging food experiences, creating an open and non-judgemental atmosphere, and providing clear and practical information. Good facilitation, coordination and adaptable methods were also important for meaningful participation and comparable learning across locations. Finally, communicating outcomes back to participants helps demonstrate the value of their involvement. These lessons can support the design of future consumer Living Labs and engagement activities.
