In this randomized controlled trial, we investigated the effects of slinging and swinging positions during labor on cervical dilatation, fetal head descent, labor duration, and birth satisfaction in 82 primiparous women. Compared with standard care, the intervention significantly shortened the first stage (94.24 ± 45.70 vs. 204.98 ± 66.10 min; mean difference, −110.74 min; 95% CI, −135.72 to −85.76; p < 0.001), second stage (42.15 ± 17.91 vs. 103.63 ± 33.75 min; p < 0.001), and third stage (6.85 ± 1.91 vs. 7.98 ± 1.73 min; p < 0.001). Fetal head descent was faster (all p < 0.001), and birth satisfaction was higher (4.94 ± 0.15 vs. 3.77 ± 0.82; p < 0.001).
