This study was motivated by the importance of critical thinking skills in mathematics learning, particularly in understanding and solving problems related to plane geometry. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Brain-Based Learning model assisted by flashcards on students’ critical thinking skills at MIN 11 Banda Aceh. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The respondents consisted of 41 fourth-grade students of class IV-A at MIN 11 Banda Aceh. The research instrument was a critical thinking skills test. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics through the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using the paired sample t-test. The results showed that the students' average critical thinking score increased from 45,26 in the pre-test to 81,78 in the post-test. The paired-sample t-test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.00 < 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Therefore, there was a significant effect of implementing the brain-based learning model assisted by flashcards on students' critical thinking skills in mathematics learning on plane geometry. The implementation of brain-based learning, particularly the elaboration and incubation and memory encoding stages supported by flashcards, provided opportunities for students to understand, process, analyze, and recall the information they had learned.
