This study aimed to investigate the effect of the IMPROVE learning method assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) on the mathematical critical thinking skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta. This study employed a quasi-experimental research design using a posttest-only control group design. The population consisted of all tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta. The sample was selected using the cluster random sampling technique, resulting in Class X-1 as the experimental group and Class X-6 as the control group. The experimental group received instruction through the IMPROVE learning method assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD), whereas the control group was taught using the conventional lecture method. The research instrument used to measure students' mathematical critical thinking skills was an essay test that had been confirmed to be valid and reliable. The data were analyzed using an independent-samples t-test at a significance level of α = 0.05 after the prerequisite tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and had homogeneous variances. The findings revealed that the mean score of mathematical critical thinking skills in the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. Based on the hypothesis testing, the calculated t-value exceeded the critical t-value (), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. Furthermore, the effect size was 0.50, indicating a medium effect. Therefore, it can be concluded that the IMPROVE learning method assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) had a significant positive effect on the mathematical critical thinking skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta.
