This study aims to explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing students' writing skills at university. Anchored in digital learning theory, this qualitative study gathered data through in-depth semi-structured interviews with ten university students. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key patterns of AI integration in academic writing. The findings reveal that AI significantly contributes to writing development by helping students construct better sentences, enrich vocabulary, and receive immediate feedback. Additionally, it fosters independent learning, boosting students' confidence and motivation. However, challenges remain, such as over-dependence on digital tools, difficulty interpreting feedback, lack of training, and varying language proficiency. These insights imply that while AI offers substantial benefits, its integration into higher education requires proper training and structured pedagogical support to maximize effectiveness.
