This study aims to analyze the level of zakat literacy and efforts to enhance it among civil servant (ASN) teachers in Empat Petulai Dangku District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra Province. The analysis focuses on two key indicators: basic knowledge regarding zakat and the practical implementation of zakat payments. A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and document analysis. The study involved 41 ASN teachers who also held other sources of income, such as from agriculture and five religious figures serving as nazir (zakat administrators). The findings indicate that the zakat literacy level among ASN teachers in Empat Petulai Dangku falls into the moderate category. While the majority of teachers possess high spiritual awareness and regard zakat as a crucial religious obligation, their in-depth understanding of the specific types of zakat varies. Most informants are familiar with basic concepts such as the 2.5% rate and the terms nisab (minimum threshold) and haul (possession period) yet they do not fully grasp how to accurately calculate zakat based on their income.
