The development of digital technology has transformed hadith studies, particularly the takhrij al-hadith bi al-mawdu‘ method, from manual searches through thematic index books to digital searches using platforms such as Hadits.id. Although digitalization facilitates hadith searches, studies concerning methodological changes and the opportunities and challenges associated with its use in contemporary hadith studies still require further investigation. This study aimed to analyze the methodological transformation of takhrij al-hadith bi al-mawdu‘ from manual to digital methods and to examine the opportunities and challenges of using digital platforms in contemporary hadith studies. This study employed a qualitative approach using library research. Data were obtained through the examination of books, scholarly articles, journals, and digital platforms related to hadith takhrij methods. The results showed that the digitalization of hadith takhrij increased the convenience, efficiency, and accessibility of thematic hadith searches. However, the use of digital platforms also presents methodological challenges, including dependence on keyword accuracy, limitations in sanad analysis, and the potential oversimplification of hadith interpretation. This study affirms that digital platforms should be positioned as supporting instruments that complement, rather than replace, classical takhrij methods. These findings contribute to the development of digital hadith study methodologies and provide practical implications for researchers in integrating technological efficiency with rigorous sanad analysis and a comprehensive understanding of hadith.
