This study analyzes the implementation of the discussion method in Islamic History (Tarikh Islam) learning in Grade VII at SMP Daar El-Jauhar. It focuses on planning, implementation, evaluation, changes in student participation, and supporting and inhibiting factors. The study employed a descriptive qualitative field-research design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Source and technique triangulation were used to support data credibility. The findings indicate that discussion activities involved an introductory explanation, group formation, discussion, presentations, peer questions and answers, and teacher feedback. These activities supported more interactive communication, students’ willingness to express opinions, collaboration, and respect for different views. Supporting factors included students’ learning interest, group cooperation, and adequate learning facilities. Constraints included uneven confidence, differences in understanding, limited instructional time, and classroom management. The study recommends distributing participation opportunities more evenly, strengthening students’ initial understanding, and improving time and classroom management.
