The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), big data technologies, and business intelligence (BI) has transformed the way organizations collect, process, analyze, and utilize information for strategic and operational decision-making. Traditional BI systems primarily rely on historical data and descriptive reporting, whereas AI-driven BI integrates machine learning, predictive analytics, natural language processing, and automated data processing to generate deeper insights and support forward-looking decisions. This review examines the evolving relationship between AI, BI, and data analytics, emphasizing their contributions to data-driven decision-making and business optimization. It discusses descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics and their applications in financial management, customer relationship management, supply chain operations, marketing, human resource management, and organizational performance evaluation. The review also considers the technological infrastructure supporting AI-driven analytics, including cloud computing, data warehouses, data lakes, and data integration platforms. Key challenges include data quality, algorithmic bias, privacy, cybersecurity, system integration, interpretability, and organizational readiness. The paper highlights the importance of responsible AI governance, reliable data architecture, and human oversight. Finally, it identifies emerging research opportunities involving generative AI, autonomous analytics, explainable AI, real-time decision intelligence, and privacy-preserving data analysis. Overall, AI-driven BI can strengthen organizational agility, improve resource allocation, enhance operational efficiency, and support competitive advantage when implemented through a well-governed and strategically aligned analytical framework.
