Agricultural extension program design requires evidence-based evaluation to determine the effectiveness of communication media and extension methods. This study aims to evaluate the level of farmers' acceptance toward the selection of media and extension methods in the design of rice husk biochar utilization as a soil amendment in Kecamatan Angkola Muaratais, Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan.A descriptive-quantitative approach was employed with 40 farmers from three farmer groups selected through purposive sampling.Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire (60 items) and analyzed using percentage scores with a continuum scale. The validity and reliability of the instruments were tested using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Cronbach's Alpha. Results indicate that the demonstration method achieved an acceptance level of 84.60% (very effective), while farm visit achieved 83.90% (very effective). The folder media obtained 84.40% (very effective) and real objects obtained 83.58% (very effective). The combined average acceptance for media and extension methods reached 84.10%, categorized as very effective.Technology adoption rate reached 37.5% (15 of 40 farmers), achieving the predetermined program target. The study demonstrates that the combination of participatory visual methods and concrete media effectively facilitates knowledge transfer on biochar technology among farmers with low formal education levels. These findings provide practical guidance for agricultural extensionists in designing contextually appropriate extension programs.
