Prevention of salivary gland toxicity during prostate-specific membrane antigen-targeted radioligand therapy: a systematic review and meta-analysis of imaging and clinical studies

Xerostomia is a frequent adverse effect of ¹⁷⁷Lu-PSMA and the dose-limiting toxicity of ²²⁵Ac-PSMA radioligand therapy (RLT). Many empirical protective measures are used, but they have not been systematically appraised across both imaging-surrogate and clinical studies, or across beta- and alpha-emitters.
