The role of cultural responsiveness in the response to intimate partner violence (IPV) continues to warrant attention. While progress has been made, there is still considerable work to be done. This article focuses on ways cultural responsiveness can be interwoven into strengthening understanding, prevention, and responses to IPV. There is a particular focus on help-seeking strategies and intimate partner homicide to build understanding of pathways to better support survivors of IPV. Next, there is an identification of using community engagement and the family and friend network as part of prevention efforts. Finally, the article ends with highlighting ways to grow responses that are comprehensive and intersectional, as well as lifting up indigenous practices within communities while not disrupting them.
