Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is rare in children and typically has a multifactorial etiology [ 1 ].In leukemia, it is most commonly reported during acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) treatment, particularly with asparaginase and corticosteroids [ 2 ].Childhood CVST preceding chemotherapy and heralding acute leukemia is exceptionally rare, with the literature largely limited to case reports, including a comparable case of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) with intracranial hemorrhage [ 3,4 ].We describe a child in whom CVST preceded overt APL recognition.
