This study reports the structural recovery of a 45-ton Reach Stacker forklift boom, essential in port handling. The equipment presented a misalignment of approximately 70 mm in the locks due to impacts, preventing operation. The objective was to analyze and execute the welding repair, restoring the original geometry and load capacity, complying with the AWS D1.1 standard. The method consisted of removing fatigued material, installing structural reinforcement, and welding using the SMAW process (E480-4 electrode) on ASTM A572 Grade 50 steel, in five passes. As a result, the misalignment was reduced to tolerances below 5 mm. It is concluded that the repair was successful, ensuring the safe return of the equipment to operation for over 12 months.
