This study presents the energy-based modeling and numerical stabilization of a flexible rotor supported by active magnetic bearings. The Euler–Bernoulli shaft includes von Kármán axial strain and is discretized by finite differences using 21 nodes. For a nonlinear orbital initial condition with 5 mm amplitude and ηg=0.173, the uncontrolled plant reached the air-gap limit at 0.002 s. With SDRE, the rotor completed 4 s and described a converging elliptical spiral; over the final 5%, | | and | | remained below 0.0127 and 0.0185 mm. The results demonstrate local return near equilibrium.
