East Nusa Tenggara has a dry agro-ecosystem due to low rainfall with dry and rocky soil. Its management is quite difficult because it requires technology. Vertical farming is implemented with modifications using a wick fertigation system. The vertical farming system utilizes pakchoi plants as its object. This study aims to assess the appropriateness of nutrients and formulations of biochar and compost in the growing media on the performance of pakchoi plants through vertical fertigation cultivation. The results showed that the combination of 0.5 g L-1 urea + 20 mL L-1 LOF + 5 mL L-1 NBF with a growing mediua of 25% soil and 75% biochar + compost produced optimal pakchoi growth and yield. This finding indicates that nitrogen input can be reduced without compromising productivity under vertical fertigation systems.
