Computed tomography angiography is critical for accurately characterizing rare meandering pulmonary veins missed on echocardiography and preventing them from being mistaken preoperatively for anomalous connections requiring surgical intervention.

Johnson et al. (2026) conducted a case report in Meandering left pulmonary vein with right partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC) and sinus venosus atrial septal defect (ASD) (n=1). Computed tomography angiography (CTA) was evaluated on Delineation of pulmonary venous anatomy and associated cardiovascular anomalies. Computed tomography angiography identified an incidental 7-mm meandering left superior pulmonary vein draining normally into the left atrium alongside a right PAPVC and sinus venosus ASD.
