Dear Editor, Pirez and colleagues provide an important overview of pediatric anesthesia training and clinical practice across Ibero-America [1].Among 1416 respondents, only 27.8% reported formal fellowship training, and 41.9% devoted no more than 20% of their clinical activity to pediatric patients. These findings raise a question that deserves further investigation: does the availability of formally trained anesthesiologists translate into effective access to specialized anesthesia care for children?
