This method assesses justice provisions by integrating computer-assisted coding with institutional analysis of texts. Drawing on a multidimensional approach to justice, the method compares 14 justice criteria, combining quantified textual references with a qualitative analysis of institutional effect. Deductive and inductive manual coding locates justice provisions in texts, and computer-assisted coding measures the textual emphasis of each criterion across a large corpus. Institutional analysis then assigns each criterion a degree of institutionalisation. Read together, textual emphasis and institutional effect show where justice appears in extensive documentation and how justice shapes decision-making. Integrating textual emphasis with institutional effect shows where justice appears in extensive documentation and whether these references shape decision-making.
