The article is devoted to the study of the theoretical and practical aspects of the use of Internet resources in criminal proceedings. Given the extent of digitalization in almost all areas of public life, as well as the inevitability and regularity of the introduction of digital technologies in criminal proceedings, the author substantiates the need to develop principles for using the Internet in investigative actions. The author’s proposed systematization of the principles for using the Internet in investigative actions is based on an analysis of the theoretical and applied provisions of the criminal procedure doctrine, as well as the results of a generalization of investigative practice in cases involving Internet resources. It is summarized that the integration of the proposed principles into the practice of combating crime will allow: to minimize the risks of loss or falsification of criminally significant information; to overcome deliberate resistance to investigation. It is summarized that theintegration of the proposed principles into the practice of countering crime will allow: to minimize the risks of loss or falsifi cation of criminally significant information; to overcome deliberate opposition to the investigation; to increase the effi ciency of the investigator’s activities in general. The formulated tactical and forensic provisions allow not only to summarize scientific ideas about the specifi cs of conducting investigative actions using the Internet resources, but also to develop an algorithm for the investigator’s actions to obtain criminally signifi cant information.
