For periodic initial data that allow vacuum, we establish the global-in-time existence of solutions to the 2D compressible nematic liquid crystal flows, under the condition that the bulk viscosity coefficient is sufficiently large and a geometric angular constraint is imposed on the initial direction field. Our results remain valid for arbitrarily large initial energy. Furthermore, under appropriate additional assumptions imposed on the pressure, we also establish the uniqueness of the constructed solutions.
